Toronto designated hitter George Springer suffered a fractured left huge toe when he fouled a ball off his foot within the third inning of Saturday’s house sport towards the Minnesota Twins, the Blue Jays introduced.
Springer fouled a 1-0 pitch off his left foot whereas going through Minnesota’s Joe Ryan. Springer continued the at-bat and grounded out to 3rd base.
Myles Straw hit for Springer within the sixth inning.
Springer had walked and scored on Dalton Varsho’s house run within the first inning.
Now in his sixth season with the Blue Jays, Springer is hitting .189 with two house runs and 6 RBIs in 13 video games. The 36-year-old has performed in not less than 133 video games for the Blue Jays for the reason that 2022 season.
Springer spent the primary seven years of his profession with the Houston Astros (2014-20) and earned World Sequence Most Invaluable Participant honors in 2017.
For his profession, Springer is batting .266, with 295 homers and 802 RBIs.
