The Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday designated right-hander Jose Urena for project.
The 33-year-old has appeared in 239 MLB video games in his profession. In 2024, he went 5-8 with a 3.80 ERA in 33 outings for the Texas Rangers.
Urena signed a minor league cope with the New York Mets throughout the offseason. On April 28, he made his season debut, permitting 5 earned runs in three innings of aid in opposition to the Washington Nationals.
After just one sport, the Mets designated him for project, and he elected free company, signing with the Blue Jays.
In Toronto, Urena posted a 3.65 ERA throughout 12 1/3 innings.
In a corresponding transfer Saturday, the Blue Jays recalled left-hander Easton Lucas from Triple-A Buffalo. The 28-year-old already has thrown 21 2/3 innings for Toronto this season, producing a 2-2 report and a 5.82 ERA.
