The MongolZ and Group Spirit improved to 3-0 within the group stage and locked up their playoff spots on Monday on the PGL Astana 2025 event.
MongolZ swept Natus Vincere and Spirit swept Astralis of their Spherical 3 Excessive Matches. MongolZ posted consecutive 13-11 wins on Inferno and Mirage, whereas Spirit earned a 13-7 win on Mud II and a 13-5 victory on Historical.
The Counter-Strike 2 event encompasses a $625,000 prize pool, with first place value $200,000 and second place $93,750.
The group stage started Saturday that includes 16 groups in a Swiss system format. All matches are best-of-three and the highest eight proceed to the playoffs that start on Friday.
The playoffs will happen at Barys Area in Astana, Kazakhstan, a single-elimination bracket with groups seeded by group stage rankings. All matches are best-of-three aside from Sunday’s grand ultimate, which is a best-of-five.
Monday’s motion included 4 Spherical 3 Mid Matches, together with sweeps by Virtus.professional over BIG and ODDIK over paiN Gaming. FURIA Esports defeated MIBR 2-1 and Aurora notched a 2-1 win over Ninjas in Pyjamas.
In Monday’s Spherical 3 Low Matches, HOTU eradicated GamerLegion through sweep and G2 Esports ousted M80 with a 2-1 triumph.
