The Cincinnati Reds optioned reliever Alexis Diaz to Louisville on Friday and referred to as up fellow right-hander Luis Mey from the Triple-A membership.
Diaz has struggled mightily since his return from the injured listing, posting a 12.00 ERA with out a resolution in six appearances for Cincinnati this season.
Along with his crew trailing by one run on Wednesday, Diaz entered the primary recreation of a doubleheader with the St. Louis Cardinals and allowed three dwelling runs within the ninth inning, resulting in a 6-0 setback. He permitted 5 runs on 4 hits and a stroll in a single inning.

Credited with a pitch that traveled over 103 mph earlier this season, Mey, 23, has a 1-1 file with a 4.00 ERA with 10 strikeouts in 10 video games at Louisville in 2025.
Mey is ranked because the No. 20 prospect within the Reds’ wealthy farm system by MLB Pipeline.
