The NFL is contemplating the addition of a Thanksgiving Eve sport to the schedule as quickly because the 2026 season, ESPN reported Wednesday.
Including a possible contest on Wednesday, Nov. 25, to the standard menu of Thursday video games would observe the league’s latest pattern of increasing its vacation choices.
The NFL has performed a sport on Black Friday since 2023, with commissioner Roger Goodell telling the Wall Avenue Journal in December {that a} second sport could possibly be added this season on Friday, Nov. 27.
There was a Christmas Day tripleheader final season, when the vacation fell on a Thursday. In 2023, the NFL performed two Christmas video games on a Wednesday.
A Thanksgiving Eve sport in 2026 would give the league a nine-day stretch with seven days of NFL motion from Nov. 22-30.
